Who cares what the customer wants?

Steve Jobs once famously said "You can't just ask customers what they want and then try to give that to them. By the time you get it built, they'll want something new."

Add to that the fact that customers don't actually know what they want these days - because things are changing so quickly they can't ask for something they haven't even thought of yet.

But that's where you step in. To provide them with something they didn't expect - something they couldn't imagine was possible. An experience or a product so awesome that you blow them away.

Where does the idea for this game-changer come from?

You. If you want to create a genuinely different experience for you customers there's no point asking what they want. You have to imagine it first yourself. And to do that you have to connect with your purpose and the purpose of your business. Once you know that the gloves are off. You can dream like Kennedy or Martin Luther King - or for that matter like Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak. Dream of what could be then work like nothing else to make it happen.

Who cares what the customer wants. Give them what they really need..
